There are lots of ways to search online for homes for sale. The trick for you is to find the tool you like best! Here are some choices I can recommend:
You can search the Charlottesville MLS for ALL active home listings right here on my website with a great map based home search from Diverse Solutions, which is user friendly and easy to customize. This tool allows you to register for a portfolio and save your favorite searches and listings.
Another great resource is the home search function on my Company’s website. The Nest Realty website has a little bit of a different feel and slightly different search capabilities than this site: it is just a matter of taste! Both of these sites mine the same data so whichever one you like, you can use to see all the homes for sale in Charlottesville and the surrounding area at any given moment.
You can also use MyCaar.com, which is operated by our local Association of Realtors. This site has a simplified interface and offers three different ways of displaying the search results. If you use MyCaar.com and you think you want to work with me as your Buyer’s Agent, be sure to choose me as your Realtor when you create your account: that way, any time you ask a question about a property, the notification will come my way!
There are several national home search websites – such as Trulia and Zillow but even if you use them to search, I recommend against using a national site to make an appointment to actually tour a home because the agents you connect with on these national sites are either the Listing Agent, who is looking after the Seller’s interest, not yours, or a Realtor who wants to be your Buyer’s Agent and is featured prominently because they have paid to advertise their services on the website. There are better ways to pick a Buyer’s Agent!
